Build, program and take home a weather station
In this workshop we will be constructing a simple weather station from off-the-shelf modular electronics that you'll take home afterwards. To a base ESP8266 microcontroller we will add sensors to measure Temperature, Humidity and Atmospheric Pressure. We will also add a small OLED screen to display the data. Finally we will add the programming needed to run the project.
If we have time, we will also delve into how to transmit and store your data in the cloud for later analysis and long-term tracking.
This workshop provides a basic introduction to how to use a very flexible set of tools that could be used for a wide range of projects that require sensing of the environment and tracking the data. You could potentially swap out the sensors to measure light, sound, ground moisture, magnetic fields or many other environmental properties.
